THE EASTERN SHORE OF VIRGINIA"

pastor
You have just discovered the "Voice Of The
Nazarene on the Eastern Shore of Virginia." I greet you in the name of
Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. As you view this message, remember that God
loves you with an unconditional love. His desire is to salvage the broken areas
of your life.
He wants to
mend your relationship with Him. He wants to wash your slate clean and graft
you into His Spiritual Family. He wants to lift your burden of guilt and
set you free to serve Him. He wants to free you from the grip of sin and
disobedience as He places you in the firm grip of His nail scared hands.
It is there that you will find the peace you've been looking for. It is
there that you will find victory over the shackles of habits and temptations
that have you firmly in their grasp. I encourage you to try the God of
eternity who cares for you so much that He gave the "Hallmark of Heaven, Jesus Christ," for
you! Consider the following Scripture text. It may be that you will
find what you've been looking for.
- Romans 1:18-20 = For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,
who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be
known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto
them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world
are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
- Romans 3:23 = For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God;
- Romans 6:23 = For the wages of sin is death; but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 8:1-18 = There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For
what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God
sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might
be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the
flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life
and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is
not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they
that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the
flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in
you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of
his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but
the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of
him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up
Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit
that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to
the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of
the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of
God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit
of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with
our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer
with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that
the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the
glory which shall be revealed in us.
- Romans 10:9-13 = That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him
shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and
the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- Ephesians 2:1-10 = And you hath he quickened,
who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked
according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the
power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
{by grace ye are saved;} And hath raised us up together, and made us
sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to
come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness
toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not
of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.
- Isaiah 55:6-7 = Seek the Lord while he may be
found, call upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his
way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the
Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will
abundantly pardon.

Have a Prosperous New Year
The story’s told of a baseball
game.
Freddy and the Lord stood by to
observe a baseball game. The Lord’s
team was playing Satan’s team. The
Lord’s team was at bat, the score was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom
of the 9th inning with two outs.
They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate named
“love”. Love swung at the first pitch
and hit a single, because love never fails.
The next batter was named “Faith”, who also got a single because faith
works with love. Up next was a batter
named Godly Wisdom. Satan wound up and
threw the first pitch. Godly Wisdom
looked it over and let it pass. Ball
one. Three more pitches and Godly
Wisdom drew a walk because he never swings at what Satan throws. The bases were now loaded. The Lord then turned to Freddy and told him
He was going to bring in His star player.
And up to the plate stepped Grace.
Satan’s whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first
pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace
hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen before! But Satan was not worried; his center fielder let very few get
by. He went up for the ball, but it
went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing to the
ground; the roaring crowds went wild as the ball bounced over the fence…for a
home run! The Lord’s team won! The Lord then asked Freddy if he knew why
love, faith and Godly Wisdom could get on base but couldn’t win the game. The Lord explained, “If your Love, Faith and
Wisdom had won the game, you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, Faith and Wisdom will get you on base
but only My Grace can get you Home.
It will take the Grace of God for you to enjoy victory in 2008
